Grant Applications being accepted

The United Way of Effingham County is accepting requests for Grant Applications for funding support for the 2019 – 2020 Campaign. Agencies requesting funds must be non-profit organizations with a 501(c) 3 certificate and have been in business for at least one year.  Applications will be electronically sent to agencies previously funded by the United Way of Effingham County.

The Grants Committee will meet on April 29th and May 6th, at which time representatives of the applicant agencies will be asked to appear before the Grants Committee to present the agency’s request and proposed use of the funds.  This committee recommends to the Board of Directors appropriate grants to the respective agencies based on the funding priorities, which are based on the community needs assessment.

Organizations wishing to apply for United Way funds may obtain an application by contacting Linda Hemmen, Chief Professional Officer for United Way of Effingham County at (217) 342-3824. Applications submitted must be postmarked by April 9, 2019

9th Annual Bar Stool Golf to benefit United Way of Effingham County

Gather up your family, friends and co-workers to join the fun by participating in the 9th Annual Bar Stool Golf.  Event is sponsored by Koerner Distributor, Inc. with proceeds to benefit the United Way of Effingham County.

Event will be held Saturday, March 2nd. Registration will be held from Noon -1 pm, and starts at the Teutopolis Banquet Hall.  Participating bars include: Gabby Goat, The Orchard, Scrubby’s, Shoebox, Brickbat, Ping’s, Kenter’s, Effing Brew, Gopher’s Grill, Teutopolis Banquet Hall, The Office, Danny’s, Trucker’s Pub, The Midway, and the Effingham Event Ceter.  The finale party will wrap up at the Teutopolis Banquet Hall.

Teams are asked to return to the Teutopolis KC Hall by 6:30 pm with their scorecards. Prizes will be awarded at that time for the first and second place teams. New this year, prizes for furthest traveled, and best designed t-shirt.

Shuttle service will be provided. No assigned courses.

Register at any participating bar – $25 per person / $100 per team for registration and payment in advance by February 27th ($125 Day of Event).  Teams can pick their team name!  See bartender at participating bars for registration form.
