KMB Boutique & Favorite Things partners with United Way of Effingham County

During the month of October, stop by KMB Boutique & Favorite Things located at 302 W Jefferson Avenue, Effingham and a portion of your sales will go to United Way of Effingham County!

Funds raised will be given to the 22 local United Way Partner Agencies: Altamont After School Program, Andrew Gobczynski Big Heart Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters (Mid Illinois), Boy Scouts – Lincoln Trails Council, Catholic Charities, CEFS Literacy Program, CEFS Retired Sr Volunteer Program (RSVP), Child Advocacy Center of E. Central Illinois, Effingham Child Development Center, Effingham County FISH Human Services, Effingham County Search & Rescue, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois, Heartland Human Services, Meals on Wheels of CEFS, One Hope United, Oneighty, SAFE (Sexual Assault and Family Emergencies), Senior Services of Effingham County, STAR (Strategic Training and Restoration), SWAN (Stopping Woman Abuse Now) and the Unit 40 Mentoring Program.

Niemerg’s Steakhouse partners with United Way of Effingham County

Niemerg’s Steakhouse will donate $1 to United Way of Effingham County for every 9 piece and $2 for every 18 piece chicken “to go” pack during the month of October.

United Way Witches Ball Approaching

The United Way Witches Ball is quickly approaching.  This event is a great opportunity to help United Way raise funds for the 22 local partner agencies that help those in need in Effingham County.

This Halloween fun filled event will be held Friday, October 4th at the Thelma Keller Convention Center.  Halloween costumes are encouraged but not required.  There will be a Costume Contest for “Best Individual” and “Best Group”.  Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dancing and silent & live auctions.  Music will be provided by Complete Weddings & Events.  Many great silent & live auction items will be available to bid on.  Trent Schmid of Schmid Auction will conduct the live auction.

Tickets are $60 per person.

United Way Announces Witches Ball Date

Volunteers for United Way of Effingham County are busy planning for the 2019 United Way “Witches Ball”. This event is a wonderful opportunity to help United Way partner with the 22 local agencies helping those in need in Effingham County.

The event will be held Friday, October 4th at the Thelma Keller Convention Center. There will be a dinner, silent & live auction and music.

A costume contest for “Best Individual” and “Best Group” will be awarded. Those attending the event are encouraged to wear a Halloween costume, but not required, unless you would like to be entered in the costume contest.

Tickets are $60 per person.

Companies will again have the opportunity to sponsor various features at the event. Sponsorship features include: hors d’oeuvres, champagne fountain, signature witches brew, fruit fondue, portion of dinner (appetizer), dessert, chocolate covered strawberries or champagne for auction overbids. Sponsorships will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Sponsors will be recognized at the event.
