Blessings in a Backpack

Each week, volunteers, in cooperation with Unit 40 school officials, distribute a bag filled with enough non-perishable food for the weekend to “at-risk” students. The goal of the program is to keep students from going hungry on the weekends and remove barriers to academic success. United Way dollars help fund this program.

Boy Scouts of America Lincoln Trails Council

Delivers first class scouting programs to families in Effingham County. Offers persons of retirement age the opportunities to provide invaluable services to all ages in the community.
